Social Skills GroupsFollowing Michelle Garcia Winner's Think Social curriculum, The Swain Center offers social skills groups for school-aged children ages 4-7 and 8-14. Older school-aged children are considered on an individual basis. The groups are limited to 4-6 participants and scheduled once weekly for 90 minutes for 16 weeks. the listening centerThe Listening Center at The Swain Center offers a variety of intervention methodologies/programs designed to improve listening skills. Used as a complementary intervention to speech and language therapy these interventions have resulted in improvement with communication, social and behavioral skills. It is through the therapeutic application of sound that social, behavioral and communication changes are facilitated. The intervention methodologies are offered as both home and in-clinic programs. The Tomatis MethodThe Tomatis Method is based on the original research and development of Dr. Alfred Tomatis who pioneered the field of the therapeutic application of sound. The Tomatis Method has been shown to improve communication, and effect positive social and behavioral changes. The Tomatis Method is the combination of art, science and engineering that improves one's ability to perceive the full range of frequencies that result in improved listening.
