Telepractice
The Swain Center is now offering our services through telepractice. Telepractice therapy is traditional speech-language therapy with a twist. It allows speech-language pathologists to work with clients while taking advantage of internet technology. This means that clients* will be able to receive speech and language services in the ease and comfort of their own homes, and in which neither the client nor the therapists will need to travel long distances. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) position is that "telepractice is an appropriate model of service delivery for the professions of speech-language pathology. Telepractice may be used to overcome barriers of access to services caused by distance, unavailability of specialists and/or subspecialists, and impaired mobility." For more information from ASHA regarding telepractice, please visit www.asha.org/practice/telepractice/ For more information about our telepractice therapy at The Swain Center, please contact Melissa Wiley at (707)575-1468 or via email Melissa@theswaincenter.com.
*Please note that this therapy model may not be appropriate for all clients

We will generally decline to participate in legal proceedings or intermarital/custodial squabbles. Our office will not act as a mediator between custodial parents, relay information about a child's sessions to a non-custodial parent, or mediate scheduling or payment plans between ex-spouses.
