Testimonials
To the all the wonderful Swain Center Staff,
Thank you for introducing myself and my grandson to the PACE program. This program has helped him to better express himself and made him more aware of his environment. His vocabulary has improved and he remembers things. He is now able to tell me what has been previously said. He has become more focused, attentive, and is able to stay on task. He works a lot faster and is able to complete assignments without complaining of being tired or distracted by surrounding noises/sounds. His comprehension, math skills, and his ability to make associations and conclusions have all improved. I am sincerely grateful.
In August 2007, my son was enrolled in the Tomatis program. Right away, his self-esteem began to improve. On the very first day we began to see changes in him. He was saying words and we could actually understand what he was saying. He became more attentive and began responding to others. We also saw his social skills improve. Overall, he became a much happier child.
I just wanted to thank you so much for all that you did for my son in the Pace program. I felt that the program was very successful for him and we were very happy with the results. My only regret is that the program came to an end. Yet, three years later we still use some of the skills that we learned from Pace. When we study spelling words we visualize, say it forward and then say it backwards. I feel that his cognitive skills improved as well as his Auditory Processing by using both the Pace Program as well as Tomatis. The programs together were well worth the time and money.
My son participated in the Tomatis program at The Swain Center. We noticed many changes during and after the program. He started listening more to his little brother when they played. He made a friend at school, which had never happened before. He started dancing to familiar music and overall his sound tolerance greatly improved. He became less sensory defensive and less reliant on his blanket for comfort throughout the day.
My son did the Tomatis therapy program. After block one of therapy I noticed changes in his focus while reading aloud. His academics improved and he became less distractible. His memory skills improved as well as his overall language. His eye contact improved as did his social relationships. I am very glad we chose to do this program.
My 12-year old daughter went through the Tomatis listening therapy program. We saw her grades in school improve. Overall, her memory skills significantly improved. She was no longer forgetting homework assignments and chores. Her voice quality improved and she was better able to organize her thoughts.
My son seemed to gain more confidences as he went through the Tomatis program. He improved in taking responsibility for doing chores and remembering tasks without having to be reminded.
My 5-year old son recently completed the Tomatis program. We are thrilled with this program! We noticed an increase in his overall speech and language skills. He became more expressive with his wants. He became socially more outgoing, I think because his language skills improved so much. He is no longer a "repeat-machine", he actually tells us his likes and dislikes. His listening skills improved. He is now able to complete tasks with little prompting. He gained self-confidence and became a happier child. He really began to thrive while participating in this therapy.
