Social Skills Groups

Following Michelle Garcia Winner's Think Social curriculum, The Swain Center offers social skills groups for school-aged children ages 4-7 and 8-14. Older school-aged children are considered on an individual basis. The groups are limited to 4-6 participants and scheduled once weekly for 90 minutes for 16 weeks. The Swain Center for Listening, Communicating, and Learning Inc. is a professional corporation dedicated to providing speech-language evaluation and therapy services. We offer a warm and caring environment that is designed to provide a positive and compassionate clinical experience. We offer the newest and best available testing and therapy materials in order to provide services with a high degree of excellence. Our "kid friendly" environment includes books, toys, videos, games and computers.

We specialize in children ages 12 months through 18 years. However, we do have staff trained in adult communication disorders.

Our areas of specialization include:

• Early intervention for delayed speech and language development
• Oral motor disorders
• Developmental apraxia of speech
• Articulation and phonology
• Social pragmatic skills
• Auditory processing disorder

Referrals for evaluations and treatment are received from parents, physicians, school districts, North Bay Regional Center, psychologists and other professionals involved in the care of our clients.
